Should you edit your own website?

At minimum you should be able to. Here is what that looks like.

Should you edit your own site? If changing a price or swapping a photo currently means emailing someone and waiting, the honest answer is you should at least be able to.

Beacon Portal gives you a login to change text, photos, and pages without code and without breaking the design. The parts you can break are locked; the parts you need are one tap away.

Some owners still text us everything, and that is fine too. The point is the choice: edit it yourself at midnight or send it to us in the morning.

What 'being able to' means

Change a price and see it live. Swap a photo without sizing it. Add a page for the new service without calling anyone. Five minutes, on your phone.

That is the bar. Most small-business owners in Metro Detroit cannot do any of it on their current site, and that is not their fault.

Why owners fear the editor

They have used WordPress, or a builder where one wrong click deleted a page, or an agency that charged for every edit. Fear of breaking the site is learned, and it is reasonable.

Beacon Portal is designed against that fear: the layout is locked, the dangerous buttons do not exist, and the undo is real.

The hybrid that most owners land on

Edit the small stuff themselves, text us for the bigger pieces. Prices, photos, and specials: yours. New sections and design changes: ours.

Either way the site stays current, which is the only goal that matters.

It runs the business too

Beacon Portal is not only an editor. It is an all-in-one business dashboard: reliable inventory management, appointments booked from your website, team scheduling, customer check-in, orders, and an owner overview with revenue, leads, and tasks.

And it is fully custom. We take requests for any tool your business needs. If you can describe how you work, we can build it into Beacon Portal.

Quick answers.

Do I need Beacon Portal?

No. Every site works without it. It is for owners who want their own hands on the keys.

Can I break my site with it?

The editable parts are locked to your content. You cannot touch the layout.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. Most edits happen on phones, usually after hours.

What if I get stuck?

Text us. Same people who built the site will walk you through it.
